Mexico - Bringing food into Mexico by air

Expert: lindsay wendt-sheikh - 7/2/2009

Question
Can I bring food (e.g., Cheerios, granola bars, packaged tea, sugar packets) in original containers in my luggage when I travel to Mexico by air?

Answer
Hi,

You can bring it in via checked in bags, but I would not take a chance with it in the carry on.  Besides a Cherrios box would be a bit too much space wasted.  But it through the checked bags to be safe.

Hope this helps!  Have a great trip!

Take Care,
Lindsay
