Mexico - bring a car

Expert: Ellen Fields - 8/18/2009

Question
hello, what is involve to send a 2009 Fiat car from Italy to Mexico
can we register that car ?
what are the regulation and cost ? (not for the shipping)

Answer
You can bring a car into Mexico as long as it is exactly 10 years old. The cost to import it is 15% plus fees (about $200 USD). It is best to work through a customs broker (agencia aduanal).
