AboutRon Russell Expertise I lived full time in the Chapala-Ajijic area for 7 years, and now Manzanillo area 4 years. During that time I provided information (health care, working papers, immigration, driving, cost of living, insurance, culture, divorce in Mexico, trusts vs direct deed, etc) to help people make the decision about whether the area was right for them, either full or part-time.
Now living north of Manzanillo on the Pacific Coast. I live legally in Mexico.

Question Ron, First, thank you for your on line help. I have read much about Ajijic and the lake area. We are interested in a trip during mid-april. We then want to take a bus to Mazatlan. The bus trip would be on a Sunday.
So that i can plan our trip is it possible to take one of the delux buses on a Sunday? Ajijic or Guadalajara to Mazatlan. We are thinking of staying at the Los Artistas B&B.
We will be in the area for approx. a week to look around and relax. How is mid April weather.
So many questions and so little time. Thank you Ron for your help.

Answer Hola Jerry,
April is the beginning of our summer with temperatures climbing usually to mid 80s F. It will be quite dry so be sure to keep yourselves hydrated (GatorAde a good bet) and always wear a hat. You'll find that if you cross over from the sunny side of the street to the shade, the temperature drops 10 degrees. Mornings and evenings are comfortable.
Los Artistos is nice place to stay, easy walking distance to downtown Ajijic, Wednesday Tianguis and cinemas.
From the Central Autobus terminal in Guadalajara, buses leave to all parts of Mexico every day. You can take a taxi there for about 400 pesos.
