Mexico/Passports

Question
I am thinking of taking my 8 year old son to Cancun for a long weekend, can you tell me if he needs a passport?

Answer
YES!  Anyone, no matter their age MUST have a passport to travel outside of the United States.

If either you of you don't have a passport, you should apply for one ASAP.  Adult processing fees are $97, and children under the age of 14 are $82, plus the cost of your passport photos.  Processing time will take approximately 8 weeks.  If you need it before than, you can pay expediting fees that will just about double the cost of your passports, and you should get it in 2-3 weeks.
