AboutRon Russell Expertise I lived full time in the Chapala-Ajijic area for 7 years, and now Manzanillo area 4 years. During that time I provided information (health care, working papers, immigration, driving, cost of living, insurance, culture, divorce in Mexico, trusts vs direct deed, etc) to help people make the decision about whether the area was right for them, either full or part-time.
Now living north of Manzanillo on the Pacific Coast. I live legally in Mexico.

Question Hi Ron--We will be staying in Guadalajara( in Tlaquepaque) in March 2005 and will not have a car. We want to take a bus for a daytrip to Ajijic--do you know how much it costs and does it run frequently?
Two other questions -- We want to go to the Ballet Folklorico at Teatre Delgaddo--do we have to buy tickets in advance or can we just show up at the door?
We also need to take a bus to San Miguel de Allende--do you know how long that would take and approx how much it would cost? Thanks so much!! -- Fran
Answer Hola Fran, sorry I do not know the price of the bus tickets.
From the local bus depot in Guad there are many trips daily to Chapala. From there you can take a local bus along the Lakeside to Ajijic.
The Ballet Folkloric performances are Sunday mornings at 10:00am. We buy our tickets by 9:30am on Sunday. That should give you lots of time. After the Ballet try the incredible chocolate croissants at Alfredos on the first street to the left as you exit front of the theatre.
You will need to get to the Centro Autobus terminal, not the local terminal, to get a bus to San Miguel. They leave hourly, not sure of cost. We prefer the ETN bus lines, but there are several making that trip.
