Question
We want to travel Northwest from Zihuatanejo along 200 by bus to find a small coastal city to relocate to. Is that a safe area for Gringos? Any place you would recommend, like Playa Azul? I heard about Bus Bandits. Does that usually happen after dark? Many thanks, ~Pamela

Answer
I am sorry but I am not very familiar with that area of Mexico.  I wouldn't recommend traveling around Mexico unless you can speak some Spanish.  Crime can happen anywhere at anytime, but last I heard the Mexican governmnet was coming down hard on bus bandits.  I looked up a few websites that may be of help to you:
http://www.zihuatanejo.net/
http://www.ixtapa-zihuatanejo.com/info/english.htm

Hope these help you find the answer you are looking for.

Pam
