Question My wife and I are going to the Barcelo Colonial in the Riviera Maya in a couple of weeks. My wife enjoys topless sunbathing and we have heard mixed answers as to wether this is common or not. Do you know if this is allowed or not.
Answer Your wife will be able to enjoy topless bathing on the beaches, but not likely around the pool. Topless is normally permitted in the beach area just about anywhere in Mexico and the Caribbean because this is generally how many Europeans sunbathe, it is only "strange" to us Americans. Should you desire to sunbathe totally "au natural" then I can recommend some resorts in Mexico and Jamaica for your next vacation that allow total nudity on the beaches and at the pools.
