AboutDavid E Clarke Expertise Lodging, villages and activities on the Bay of Tenacatita only, in the state of Jalisco on the Pacific Coast of Mexico (Costa Allegre)
Experience I have been part of two companies that have specialized in kayaking and camping trips in this part of mexico and am very familiar with the Bay of tenacatita and the surrounding area.
I presently have a small company called outlandadventures that has a year round ocean view rental villa in the small fishing village of La Manzanilla Jalisco, Mexico where folks can come enjoy the beauty of the area.
Question I was told that I can not bring alcohol into puerto vallarta when we fly in for a holiday from Canada thru the U.S.. Is this true?
Answer We have brought in our own mini bar on a number of occasions flying into PV and La Manzanilla (LM)which is south 4 hours. The folks at PV are more alert than if you fly into LM but you should not have any problems bringing in 2 bottles per person.
But unless you drink something quite special you are better off buying your booze in Mexico, most alcohol is relatively cheap. Especially, gin, vodka, rum , brandy, tequila. Beer runs about $12-14 amn per case of 20 bottles. But you have to buy the first set of 20 bottles or deposit then you swap out the boottles there after.
Hope you have fun and checkout www.lamanzanilla.biz and VILLA MONTANA in La Manzanilla south of PV 4 hours. Just 35 minutes from the Manzanillo airport.
