About Natasha
Expertise
I can answer questions about raising mice and caring for them as pets, with knowledge from my 35 years of having mice as very tame pets, including raising babies to be pets. I am expert in behavior. I am NOT a breeder, nor a scientist, nor do I know about exotic mice. I am NOT a vet-- I know only about illnesses and problems which have come up in my experience with my own mice, or what I have researched; I may be able to offer you home remedies in case you can't go to a vet, but a vet visit is always better. Please first search first: use 'Natasha Mouse' with whatever else your question includes ('baby' or 'orphan' or 'wild' or 'pregnant' etc). You can also do your own research at: http://www.fancymice.info/index.htm *or* http://www.allaboutmice.co.uk/ *or* http://forum.thefunmouse.com/index.php *or you can ASK QUESTIONS at* http://www.smallanimalchannel.com/mice-and-rats/default-1311.aspx#Sec *or EVEN A VET* http://www.smallanimalchannel.com/critter-experts/vet/topiclist.aspx.

Experience
I have had mice for 34 years (since I was 5!). I raised them when I was a child but now I keep all females, and never fewer than three so that if one dies the others are not devastated, because they have each other.

Mice - Where to find a mouse

Question
Hi, I realize that this is the most random question ever however I have been looking on my own with no results. Do you know where I could adopt a little girl mouse in the Jersey City/New York City area? I have been trying to find breeders and adoption center but have not had any sucess. My little Bambi's sister passed on yesterday after struggling to live after an accident with the rats. As Bambi's name suggests, she is a shy little girl and I really would like it if she could have a cagemate. Thanks.

Answer
Hi!

Here's a mouse adoption site:

http://forum.thefunmouse.com/viewforum.php?f=4&sid=49a920b553b71d1f909c6826beb59...

Here's a link to a general pet adoption site for any kind of pet anywhere:

And here is my personal mouse 'dealer' here in NYC, Mikiodo.  Note he doesn't always have mice and he doesn't always approve everyone!:

Have fun!

squeaks n giggles,

Natasha
