AboutRem Heck Expertise Major strengths of school: Diversity. MSU (at least when I attended `70-`74) has the largest single campus enrollment in the U.S. and ranked 2nd, as I recall, in the world (after the Sorbonne). But it handles its size very well, particularly by using the "living/learning concept" where in some cases freshmen can attend up to 90% of their classes in the same buildings in which they live. It also had the nations largest concentration of Merit Scholars (recipients of the National Merit Scholarship). It is particularly noted for its college of Veterinary Medicine, and has both colleges of Human Medicine (M.D.), and Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) at a single campus. It is also noted for its school of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional management. A former employer of mine, Texas Instruments, made a point of recruiting bachelor graduates in Packaging Engineering. While not as famous as Berkely, or Argonne, MSU does have a cyclotron and other sophisticated equipment.
Question HI, My name is Mariah and I have a couple of questions about your school...I am a senior in high school and im going for nursing i was wondering how much it would cost for me to attend your school? What kinda of ACT grades are you looking for? And if a person does ok in school and gets C and up grades but does fair or good on the ACT will they get accepted? MSU is a dream that I would love to make come true this is why i asked you these questions so i will have a better shot to attend you excellent school!
Answer Mariah, I know that MSU has a very fine Nursing School, but I don't know the details of current admissions requirements or costs. In addition to general admissions requirements, each school may have differing prerequisites or recruitment policies. I do know that cost is significantly less for students who reside in Michigan. I graduated in Communications Arts and Sciences in 1974, so what was true then may no longer be. However, I recommend you browse http://www.msu.edu. You can find out about the degree programs, financial aid, and who to contact. You can even apply on line, which might be a good idea. Even if you don't currently qualify you can find out what you can do to correct any deficiencies. Now is the time to get started if this is your senior year.
Good Luck and Go State!
