Question QUESTION: I am in need of a very primitive order form for my website. I currently have all of my products available listed in a table at http://www.inthebeginningnaturals.com/order%20index.htm . I have read that you can't make a order form strictly using FrontPage. I read some old questions on using a javascript form but pages referenced in the answer are no longer working. I have looked at using some shopping carts but most charge at least $30 a month. I am just looking for a way for people to input the wanted amount and have a line total %26 grand total figured. I need a field for their name and email. I want a copy of the order sent to me and a copy sent to them. I would really like the emails to only contain the ordered products and not the unordered products. I need to be able to update prices relatively easily. I have spent many hours trying to figure this out and am running out of patience. How difficult would this be for me to setup or how much do you think someone would charge to do this? I have all the data on my site and in excel.
Thank you for your help,
Shawn
ANSWER: I think you mean javascript not java. You want the user to be able to pay via the site? How will you take payment will you use paypal?
Paypal can do quite a lot nowadays without the need for a cart... but if you needed a cart there is a lite cart and they also do a pro cart which charges $8 a month... check out http://mals-e.com/ for the free one and http://www.mals-e.com/featuresPremium.php for the pro version.
For a business you need something of substance in place I think the above is the way to go.
How long have you had your site usually sites designed with frames were designed about ten years ago, it does not do you any favours with search engines, while your thinking about payment options you might think of a new look that will be much easier to maintain and bring in more orders because more people will find you in the search engines.... you could do with some serious seo(search engine optimisation) even some of the basic stuff would help a great deal.
You might ask on the mals forum for help with your order page.
and this might help also http://www.website-development-training.com/carts/ follow the other link within the article at the bottom of the article also

QUESTION: Thanks for the reply. I just want a basic form. I don't plan on more than a few people using the cart function. I don't want to accept payment. Thanks for the links. The mals-e.com looks very promising.
My website is only two years old. A friend of mine put it together. I changed a few things and attempted to remove the frames but my knowledge is limited. I agree that some parts of it could use a redesign. Any idea of what that would cost?
Thanks again for the prompt response and the great advise,
Shawn
Answer If you don't want to accept payment (I take it this site is really mainly for local people?) though the mals people on the forum will probably know more about this... as its been quite some time since I set this up on my own art site.... (in fact I'm in for a learning curve myself as I have to upgrade the code.. paypal has come on so much that some of the features i used the lite mals cart for are now within paypal itself) ... you could google for some javascript forms... I've not really done that before so I don't know the exact keywords you might use..I think the best bet is the mals forum and if they can't help directly they will probably know more indepth resources you can look at..but I don't think a fp form could do all you want.
Which version Of frontPage are you using?
Do you maintain your site yourself?
How many pages do you have on your site? (those with content not the header footer side frames)
