Question QUESTION: I have Win.2000, laptop. While dragging taskbar back to the bottom, the buttons somehow got over to the right side of the double lines, with the exception of Start button. In trying to move them back to the left, I clicked on IE button to try to drag it, and it disappeared. The shortcut is in Doc/settings/C, still.
Is it possible to move the buttons back to original position near the start button and if so how?
And How do I get the IE button back on taskbar?
Thank you!
ANSWER: Hi Janice,
The first thing I would do is drag the Taskbar back where it was, then try again to drag it to the bottom. To get IE back in the Quick Launch area, if there is an IE icon on the Desktop, left click and drag it to the Quick Launch.
Hope this helps!

QUESTION: Thanks Lorry. The task bar is back at the bottom, but the buttons are still on the wrong side of task bar. (on the right of the double lines, so the working areas are now by the start button and would like to move the buttons back next to the start button if possible.
also, yes there is an IE icon on desktop. Could you explain a little more about how to drag it (Where?) to quick launch?
(I'm pretty new to computers)
Thank you
Answer Hi Janice,
The icons near the Start button are the programs you use often that maybe started by clicking them once, those are in the QuickLaunch area.
There is usually only one row of the Taskbar. The following expllains how to get it to decrease to one toolbar.
The Microsoft Windows Taskbar can be stretched to have approximately 15 rows of available space to display each of the open programs. Often users may mistakenly stretch this bar to display two or three rows of icons. To increase or decrease the size of the Taskbar simply move you mouse cursor to the top edge of the taskbar. When your mouse changes to a double-headed arrow click your left mouse button and drag the Taskbar up or down to increase or decrease the size of the Taskbar.
Once you do that, only the programs starting with Windows should be by the clock, while the others are by the Start button.
To get IE into the Quick Launch, left click, hold it down and drag it to the area by the Start button. Verify that you have enabled Quick Launch by right clicking the Taskbar, put the cursor on Toolbars and see if Quick Launch is checked, if not, check it.
