QUESTION: HI Lorry ,

I accidentally downloaded the xpantivirus 2008. I was able to uninstall most of it. But this what I am facing now. When I do a search in google it gets redirected to many different search engines. On startup I  get a blue screen that says You need antivirus software..
 Also IE keeps closing giving some error. I can go to the internet thru my computer but not by clicking on the IE link..
Please help..

QUESTION: Hi Lorry ,

Thanks a lot for the response. Unfortunately IE does not let me access any of the security sites.. mcafee, symantec . It just gives an error of page not found etc. Something is blocking me from going to any anispyware sites.It is able to access yahoo .. etc but none of the sites where I can download some antispware.

Hi Deepa,

Try downloading AVG on one computer, put it on a CD, then install it on your computer and run a virus scan. You might want to do the same with Spybot.
