Question Hi,I have recently encountered this problem of blank web page. The page says its loaded but it still turns up blank. I then, acting on the advice of another answer to this problem, downloaded firefox and tried from there. It worked fine. But the following day the same problem occurred on the firefox. I have tried deleting caches %26 so on but to no avail. What could be causing this? All other websites work fine apart from that one. I have established that the website is fully functional because it works on other computers apart from mine.
Answer Hi Muj,
Using Internet Explorer, go to:
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp
Click "Continue to Symantec Security Check", in the next window click No when asked if you want to close this window, that will bring you to a window where you should click Virus Detection.
Write down exactly anything it finds, then go to: http://www.symantec.com/search/ and do a search for what was found. Symantec usually has a removal tool and/or directions for removing manually. Make sure that you follow the instructions for removal, step by step, especially the part regarding disabling System Restore.
I would also suggest downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from:
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
Actually I would suggest running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware first, if the problem persists, then go to the Symantec site and run their free scan.
Hope this helps!
Lorry
