Question
QUESTION: for last one week i don't hear sound on my internet explorer which before i had whaen i try to play some video or open u tube anything on internet explorer. But when i play my some songs in my documents folder it plays and i can  hear but not on internet explorer i don't understand  why????????????

ANSWER: Hi Jaswinder,

With Internet Explorer opened, go to Tools, Internet Options, under the Advanced tab verify that "Play sounds in webpages" is checked - under Multimedia. If not, check it, click Apply, then OK.

If using Internet Explorer 8, go to Tools, Compatibility Mode and add that site.

If you have a HP compter:

No sound from Web pages in Internet Explorer (XP)
To hear sound while viewing web pages with audio, perform the following steps:

1.Click Start , and then click Control Panel .
2.Click Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices and then click Sounds and Audio Devices .
  3.Click the Sounds tab.
4.In the Program events list, find and select Windows Explorer .
5.Select Complete Navigation and set sounds to notify.wav .
6.Start Navigation and set the " sounds " to Windows XP Start.wav .
  7.Click OK .

Hi Jaswinder,

Check out the following for information:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555474

http://www.techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-xp-support/138102-reso...

If you decide to download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, you may do so from:

http://download.cnet.com/K-Lite-Mega-Codec-Pack/3000-13632_4-10794603.html

Try the following and see if it helps:

   * Go to START-->RUN and type regedit to open the Registry Editor
   * Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
   * Now right-click on the heading Drivers32 and select NEW-->STRING VALUE.
   * Call this new String Value wavemapper.
   * Now double-click the wavemapper entry you just created and for the VALUE field, type in msacm32.drv and click OK.
   * Close the Registry Editor and try watching a video on YouTube again.
