Microsoft Internet Explorer/IE 8.0 w/ XP pointer issues

Question
My computer has been behaving very strange for about 3 weeks ago. I am pretty sure this coincided with me installing XP SP3. What happens is that the pointer will not work all of the time...meaning that I can move the pointer around fine. But when I try to click any on buttons, hyperlinks, etc. the execution of the "click" doesn't do anything. To make it work, I have to move (reposition or shift)the window around a bit and then try clicking the same thing I just tried clicking...only then does it work.

I am going to reinstall my pointer driver. Any clue?

Answer
Hi Bob,

eHow explains How to Clean the Mouse on Your Computer at:

Try updating the mouse driver instead of reinstalling. This will sound strange but unplug, then replug the mouse to the computer - assuming that it is not a wireless one.

If that doesn't do the trick, try downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.37 from:

Hope this helps!
