Microsoft Internet Explorer - Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

Question
QUESTION: I get this pop up on almost every web page I visit. I have tried a few fixes by googling the error message, but I have not solved the problem. I just updated to IE 8.0 through Verizon/Yahoo which is my ISP. I have ESET Smart Security as my online security. Can you suggest a fix that does not involve uninstalling and reinstalling major software? I have no confidence in my ability to do that.
Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Linda,

Regarding your issue, please let me know if you have tried to Disable script debugging" and "Display a notification about every script error" in internet explorer properties.

QUESTION: Yes, I have gone to the Tools tab and clicked Internet options, then advanced and then unchecked those boxes. The problem continued so I went back and checked them. There doesn't seem to be any difference whether those boxes are checked or unchecked. And yes, I remembered to click apply before exiting.

Thanks, can you think of something else? One thing I have noticed is that it doesn't matter whether I answer yes or no to make the pop up disappear. And on some pages I must click it multiple times to get it to go away.

Answer
Hi Linda,

Try to disable the Web site compatibility feature using following steps:

-Go to Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> uncheck "Automatically recover frompage layout errors with Compatibility View."

-Click Apply and Ok.

Thanks,
Sandeep Handoo
