Microsoft Internet Explorer - Nag screen from Panda antivirus

Expert: Sandeep Handoo - 9/7/2009

Question
Dear Sandeep,

I have a PC with WinXP installed. My connection is through Hathway Cable. I have downloaded Panda antivirus Global 2010. It is supposed to be free for the first three months, after which, if one does not buy it, it won't update its virus definitions etc. Fair enough. The problem is that every 30 seconds, a screen pops up just above the systray,  asking for "activating the product". I wish to disable this nag screen. Do you have any idea how to go about this?

Thank you in advance for your consideration of my query.

Taher

Answer
Hi Taher,

You need to check the faq's of the software to see if they provide you the option to delay or disable it for sometime. If you want to disable it completely, you can check if this update entry is listed in starup using Msconfig.

Thanks,
Sandeep Handoo
