Microsoft Internet Explorer - Changing the font size of printed documents

Expert: Lorry - 11/3/2007

Question
QUESTION: I have a HP Photosmart c4240 all-in-one printer and I would like to know how to change the font size of the documents I print. Everything I print now is so small I can hardly read it! I mean tiny!! Please help if you can, HP wasn't any help at all.
Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Marian,

If trying to print from Internet Explorer, copy and paste what you wnat to print onto a Word prgram, for example MS Word or Wordpad and print from there.

If the font is still small, in Wordpad, go to Format, Font, change to what you want, click Apply, then OK.

Hope this helps!

QUESTION: Hi Lorry,
I'm not sure if the problem is with my computer (Vista) or with the printer. Your solution worked (thank you!) but when I want to print out a page, any page from the web it's still very small. I've tried going to the printer site but it doesn't give you the option of changing the font size. This has been a continuing pain for some time, so one more time?
thanks again

Answer
Hi Marian,

With Internet Explorer opened, go to View, Text Size and choose Largest.

To override website font and color settings

If you want to have the fonts and colors you specify in Internet Explorer to be used for all websites, regardless of the fonts that have been set by the website designer, follow these steps.

In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

On the General tab, click Accessibility.

Select the Ignore colors specified on webpages, Ignore font styles specified on webpages, and Ignore font sizes specified on webpages check boxes, and then click OK

From Internet Explorer Help

Never had much luck with the above, so I just copy and paste what I want to print onto a word program and then print from there.

Hope this helps!
