Microsoft Internet Explorer - Windows/Internet explorer

Question
I am using IE 6.0 with WinXP.

I have always been able to Select and Copy parts of a web page or an essay or an e-mail and then Paste it on WORD to print or send on to someone else. Now I can Select (highlight) and copy, but I can't paste it anywhere: word, notepad, wordpad, paint, etc. The "paste" function on my edit menu is grayed out, and replaced by clipboard. Clicking on the clipboard brings up a window saying nothing is on it.

What has happened? What can I do to get back my old copy and paste function? HELP!

Answer
Any time something weird like this happens to a computer, the first thing I think of is a virus or malware. You should check your computer for both. Read this article, it should help:

Let me know if you need further assistance.
