Microsoft Internet Explorer - Yahoo

Expert: Frances Rhea - 3/18/2005

Question
Dear Frances,
I've been using internet explorer and Yahoo for ages, but lateley a funny thing has been happening. A lot of times when I check my e-mail page it will tell me that ( for example ) I have 4 new messages, but when I open it there are none. Or sometimes I look and there are several e-mails that I have already deleted, but appearing again as new mail. Also I have found that if I click the "check mail" button a few times new mail appears that wasn't there before. Any ideas? Also is there any way to stop the onslaught of those e-mails from Nigeria asking for my bank info etc... so they can send me my millions? I get several of those a day.
Thanks Ray

Answer
If you do not check your system on a regular basis for spyware, etc. then it could be the problem. Read this page for help:

As for the Nigeria messages, when Yahoo is open, click on Mail Options. Set your span filters. Then click on Filters. Add a filter to watch in the message body for the work Nigeria. You can set it to delete these messages.

If you need more help let me know.

Fran
