Microsoft Internet Explorer - adverts on the screen

Expert: Frances Rhea - 11/24/2006

Question
When I switch on, on the screen comes "Uniblue Registry Booster2  I tied to remove itfrom "Add and Remove" but was notified that it could not be removed because it doesn't exist Is there no way to be rid of it

Answer
I guess you did one of their online scans to see if you had problems with your registry? If this is true, then you can delete the folder from your harddrive. It should be under Program Files, then either Uniblue or Registry Booster. Delete the entire directory.

Now click Start, Search, Find Files or Folders. Type in system.ini and click Search. When it finds the file, right click on it and open it with Notepad only. No other program. Find any lines that reference Uniblue Registry Booster, and delete the line. When you are done save the file.

Do the same with Search for win.ini and delete any lines in there.

Reboot. That should be it.
