Microsoft Internet Explorer - alphabetize favorites

Expert: Frances Rhea - 8/23/2006

Question
I have windows xp and would like to alphabetize favorites.  I have clicked on a favorite link with right mouse but the window that comes down does not have (sort by name).

Everywhere I look on microsoft it says to right click on link in favorites and a window will come down with (sort by name)when I right click on  a favorite link the window says as follows;
(create new folder, print, make available on line
send to, cut, copy, delete, properties)
The (sort by name should be after delete and before properties but is is omitted)

Your help will be appreciated.  Thanks, Jackie

Answer
Navigate to your Favorites folder using Explorer. It should be located at c:/documents & settings/user/favorites.

Right click in the explorer window and select Arrange Icons, By Name. Then do it again and select Arrange Icons, Auto Arrange.
