Question The only popup blocker installed is through Internet Explorer, as well as Norton Internet Security, but, I do have the "Block Popups" box unchecked in Internet Explorer, and same with Norton, I have it set to allow popups. I even disabled Norton to see if that worked, but had no effect. I just recently cleaned out the computer (cookies, temp files, etc.), still didn't help. By the way, I tried putting all this information before, but it said it was too much.
I do have Sun's JRE (J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 6, as it states in Add/Remove Programs), which is the latest one.
I then went to the site for the windows scripting Host, updated it, and restarted my computer, still didn't help.
I can't add it to a trusted site, since it's not https://, it's only http://.
I do have the latest I.E. (not 7, just the latest for 6).
I do have Maxthon browser, and it still does the same thing. Like I mentioned, the popup comes up for a new window, then the first (non-popup) browser closes, then the popup.

I've been having problems playing some games on 2 different sites that I was able to play in the past, but can't now, because everytime I get into a game room, which opens up in a new browser, the new browser opens, and then the original browser closes, then the one that just opened.

1-Do you have any POP up blocker installed..?
If so... check with its documentation how to disable it for a particular site...
I have google bar installed and it has a pop up blocker... but when I want to allow a pop up... i press the CRTL key..to do so...selectivly..
though I do not use WinXp... But the IE that comes with WinXp has a built in pop up blocker...
and whenever it blocks any pop up.. a Blue blinking Bar appears just below the address Bar....and when you right click it... you get further options...
then If Spywares are not an issue...the other cuuse could be. .. the absence or corruption of
a) JVM ( java Virtual Machine )
.. though microsoft has discontinued its JVM .. but you can find it... elsewhere on the net...
Else you can use the Sun's JRE downloadable from their site..
and also the corruption on WSH ( window scripting Host ) file ... which is available from
Of course its neccessary first to check the Security restriction if any imposed on the machine...
you can add the site to your trusted sites list by going through
Tools-->> internet options.
then clicking the security tab..
and then choosing the trusted sites icon....and manually adding them there..
..The third and most drastic reason could be that your IE May have got corrupt...
Hmmm...
Some thing IS blocking the pOp up...or disallowing the change in Focus from the initial browser to the target or New Browser windows... thats for sure...
give me some time... !!
In the mean while... the way to add that to the trusted sites list with http is very simply just uncheck the
Require sever verification Option , which is checked by default.....just uncheck it... and you will be able to add the site to your trusted lists...
... By the way Have you checked for viruses and Spywares....!! on your system...??
also try ... fireFox....if possible..
and let me figure out what else could get wrong...!!
Of course the Last option is the re-install...But not for now...!
