Microsoft Internet Explorer/browser security

Question
Hello:

Is there any way to "protect" or make "invisible" certain favorites in the Internet Explorer browser?  I am running Internet Explorer 6.0.2900 with 128 bit encryption on Windows XP with service pack 2. When you click on favorites on the toolbar it drops down another toolbar. Your 1st option is add to favorites and your 2nd option is organize favorites.  Then there is a line or break and under that are all of your favorite website links.  If you go into organize favorites you can even create a new folder. That is my main question.  Is there any way to to "protect" or make "invisible" that new folder that you have created without having to set up different profiles on the computer? I know this may sound a little confusing so I hope you understand what it is that I am asking.

Thanks,

N

Answer

never tried any such thing before....
any way... two possible solutions...

1- I use window 98  and  it has a favourties folder in its windows directory...and in that Favourites folder...there are sub folders according to the classificaiton of my saved favourties...

Now right clicking any Folder then choosing its properties... shows its  changeable attributes...and  in has a Hide folder attribute....checking which will Hide the folder....

..but its all Manual...and you will have to Unhide it whenever you will need its content....

....But there are utilites... Like folderguard.....
( Please search the Net for it )

http://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start=3&q=http://www.gold-software.com/download36...

... which allows you to selectively  Lock/hide/Protect individual folders and directories.....
Maybe along with Folder gaurd ....YOU can Work out...some arrangement .....to  Protect your Favourites Folder

The second is the Use of a Book Mark Manager...which  should have a security feature in it...

I would again recommend to search  the Net....
Maybe www.downloads.com  and then their  Internet /Bookmark Utiilities  section  Helps..

Hope it helps...
