Microsoft Internet Explorer - browser

Expert: Aquaris - 10/9/2005

Question
Dear Aquaris,

Hope you can help. I am trying to apply for a job vacancy on-line. After completing my personal details an error message appears that does not allow me to go further, it reads -

Your browser does not appear to support Java applets. Please check your settings or upgrade your browser.

I would be grateful for any suggestions. PS I am running Windows XP

Thanks - Steve

Answer

Tools--->> Internet options

then click the security tab...

then click the custom button....

and choose appropriately for JVM section..
and Java appelet section...

also  check for various ActiveX  options...

again... tool-->> internet options
now click the  Privacy tab..
Then click advanced  ....the check overide cookie handling for the time being...

or better still click the edit button... on the same page..
and enter the address of the website causing problems...and click allow...

again back  tool-->> internet options..
this time click the content tab...
then click the autocomplete button...
and check the forms options..

re-start your browser...or better still restart the computer..( LOL just to be on the safe site..)

this should solve the problem....

if not then I think your  you need a new version of at least  JVM

there are two versions of JVMs  Microsoft's and Suns..
you can get either from

http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html

..... or in extreme cases  try a different browser ...

or download a fresher version  Of IE and re-install...

hope it helps...and you won't have to go through the re-download stage..
