Question QUESTION: Hi, Viksra.
I want to set up MSN, so I may use my webcam.
The problem is, when I get the set up wizard box, it asks me to put in my phone number (area code first).
However, there are not enough boxes to take all eleven numbers (it can only take ten) and the area code box is not big enough to take the five numbers that is required.
I have tried every combination to try and fit it all in, but keep getting; 'area code not valid'.
In my dial up box in internet options I have put the area code and the area where I dial up from and this is fine, because there's room! Any ideas to solve this problem?
Thanks, Fonzie.
ANSWER: Hi Fonzie. It's only supposed to take ten digits for your phone number. Do not include the country code. Also, are you sure you're entering in your area code and not zip code? Your area code should be 3 digits, and zip code 5 digits. What area do you live in?

QUESTION: My area phone code has 5 numbers starting with 01.
And yes I certain I'm not putting in my zip code.
As for the code for the country, I don't know this anyway and would have to look that up if I needed it.
I live in Surrey, South east England. Await your reply, best wishes Fonzie.
ANSWER: Are you trying to use your webcam on MSN Messenger or are you trying to set up MSN Browser? For MSN Messenger, you do not need to enter in a telephone number to use your webcam. You simply need to configure your webcam in Tools --> Audio & Video setup.

QUESTION: Now I'm a little confused.
There is windows live messenger, windows messenger. Is there a difference?
As for MSN browser, is this the same as Mozilla firefox that I use for connecting to the internet?
Will MSN browser replace the Firefox, or are they seperate?
Thanks.
Answer Yes, there is a difference between Windows Live Messenger and Windows Messenger. Windows Live Messenger is the new version of MSN Messenger, but simply renamed. You can download that from http://messenger.msn.com and Windows Messenger is the instant messenger that comes with Windows when you first buy your computer. They BOTH use the same login method (Microsoft .NET Passport). No, MSN Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are two different things. Mozilla Firefox is one type of internet browser, and MSN Explorer is another. They both have the same function, which is to view web pages online, but they are made by different companies and have different features. MSN Explorer (what you are calling MSN Browser) will not replace Firefox. It will work along side of Firefox and will let you continue to use Firefox seperately or at the same time.
