Question Hello,
It would be great if you can help with those:
1) When I send a message via MSN messenger or gmail chat to another computer, can I fetch it just before it is sent away?
2) To answer number (1), I guess I need to know how to access the port which this software is using. How do I do that?
3)Moreover how do I check the port which receives the messages from the chat?
4) If I can do number (3), and I fetch the messages received into my computer, are they encrypted, or I can load it in notepad and create a log file of the messages sent to me via MSN messenger/gmail chat service?
Regards,
Hanan.
Answer Hi Hanan.
I am unsure of what you mean by fetch it... are you simply trying to create a log of all of your IMs from your computer to another computer? MSN allows you to log your conversations with other people simply by going to Tools --> Options --> Messages --> Under "Message History" select "Automatically keep a history of my conversations." MSN will the start logging all of your chats into .xml files. A third party client that works with MSN Messenger and has the ability to save chats as .txt files can be found at this website: http://www.msgpluslive.net/
