Question
I have MS Office 2000 and windows XP

1) When compossing an e-mail the "to" does not auto complete the recipients when compossing an e-mail like in Outlook express, how do we set this to do so?

2) File attachments - in Inbox view pain most of the e-mails show attachments, I have the preveiw pain view selected and in the header of the pain it shows the paper clip noting attachments, the problem is that Outlook e-mail is making the Anti virus scan or statments that are at the bottom of e-mails as an attachement (No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG.Version: 7.5.524 / Virus Database: 270.4.1/1510 - Release Date: 6/19/2008 3:21 PM". Attachment file name is "_AGV certification.txt") so I must click on most every e-mail to see if their really is an attachment. Outlook express does not list the attachment in the previe pain header window so how do we remedy this?

3) When I compose an e-mail in MS office Outlook E-mail using the "rich text" and attaching a file attachment to the e-mail, format the text with color and bolding etc. then send it to a receipient who uses outlook express the attachment is not their nor is any of the bolding or text color, same goes for selecting "rich text, with MS Word to edit".   So I select "plain text" format and can add a file attachement that makes it to the Outlook Express recipient but I cannot format/edit the text, like bolding, color the text red, change font or font size when composing the e-mail.

4) When I receive e-amail in MS Office Outlook e-mail from a sender who uses Outlook express I get the attachments and formatted text that was bolded, changed in text color etc. ?

5) Will MS Offcie 2003 professional edition correct all of this if there is no fix to the 2000 version?

6) Do I need the MS Offcie 2003 edition to be able to sync my pda phone Windows Mobile 6.1 data data to my main computer MS Office data or will 2000 do this?

Answer
Steven.

1. Tools menu > OPtions > Preferences > e-mail options ... > Advanced email options > Select automatic name checking

2. I have not seen this and it is more likely the virus protection you are using then Outlook

3. You have no control over the formatting of a received email.  This is determined by the recipient.  If the recipient only receives plain text email then it doesn't matter what formatting you use.

4. You have your outlook set to either HTML or rich text

5. The issues you are referring to remain the same up to 2007

6.  This is not dependent on MS Office it has to do with you Mobile phone.  You need to check the phone capabilities.

Nancy
