Question My question kind of goes with a previous question from someone else....
previous question
it's my understanding when moving to a new computer you loose your email addresses in the To: autocomplete. Is there any way to bring them over or do you just rebuild it again.
my question -
On my old computer I have found all the autocomplete email addresses that are not in the contacts located in custom.dic I copied that folder from the old computer and replaced the custom.dic folder in the new computer. They are all there but when I start to type the name/email in a new outlook email, they don't autofill.
The box is checked in the Tools- Options- Email Options- Advanced Email Options- Suggest names while completing...
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Answer Linda, if you import your contacts from the old computer to the new computer the addresses will autocomplete.
From the File menu >/Export > To file > *.pst
From the new computer you Import into Contacts
You will have to either do this through a network or flash drive
On a new installation the autocomplete does not always show up immediately. Complete the message and click on send, the names should fill in.
