Microsoft Outlook - outlook 2007 spell check not working

Expert: Nancy Janyszeski - 5/3/2009

Question
Hi, thanks so much in advance for your amazing service!

I upgraded from 2003 to 2007 and the spell check does not
work, although occasionally it does, so strange! it always
does check the subject line however! I did check and triple
check all of the settings...I even did a google search and
changed one regedit setting to be called 1.0 to 1.0OLD,
anyway, I can't be the only one...can you help please?!
thanks!!!!!!
:-)

Answer
Greg, I'm not sure but once you have spell checked a document you have to reset spell check to do it again.  From the Tools menu > Options > Spelling > Spelling and Autocorrection...

Review and see if Reset is an option.

Outlook's spell check is "ruled" by Word so you might want to check that as well.

As always - the last option should be regedit.
