Microsoft Outlook - Outlook 2007 problem

Expert: Jim Stiles - 7/9/2009

Question
Jim  Constantly get "a data file did not close properly" popup when opening Outlook. Used Scandisk Microsoft .exe repair tool, no errors found, reinstalled Outlook, Good for a day then problem back. Files supposedly fixed if I wait long enough for scan, but then problem back again. Any suggestions?
Regards

Answer
This is most likely caused by an add-in.
You can either try running Outlook with the /safe command-line switch to make sure all add-ins are disabled or go to your add-ins and disable them. If this removes the error, then you will need to enable each add-in, one by one, until the error shows up again.

If you have Microsoft's Windows Live OneCare, I would suggest disabling that one as it is usually the problem.

Jim.
