Question I was emailed a powerpoint in ppt.pptx format. It has .wav files embedded in it. I have been able to pull up the presentation, but cannot hear the audio files. What do can I do to enable me to play the presentation with the audio as well?
Answer first step:
check if there are audio files embeded in powerpoint (an audio file with file size bigger than 5MB can not be embedded in PowerPoint).
Open the pptx file and choose Office icon -> Save As. From the "Save As type" drop down, choose the Web Page format (*.htm, *.html). Type a file name and click save. Open the file folder where you saved the Presentation as HTML and there you'll see another subfolder with the same name. Open it to check if there are audio files in this folder. If not, it means that no audio files were embedded.
If you can make sure there ARE audio file in this folder, then go the second step.
second step:
check volume value of your system and PowerPoint.
check volume in PowerPoint: click on embedded audio icon, and the sould tool tab will appear. select Options->Slide Show Volume(Mute or not)
third step:
open an audio file on your computer to test if the sound card performs right.
