Microsoft PowerPoint - audio visual synchrony

Expert: Jeffson - 4/28/2009

Question
Hi, I want to construct movies where a very simple auditory rhythm (composed of beeps) is synchronized with the presentation of a cross (a + sign).  So every time there is a beep, there is a synchronized appearence of the cross.  The catch is that I need for the timing to be very precise (to the tenth of a second) and need for the events comprising the auditory and visual rhythms to occur every 350 ms.  If the auditory and visual events can't be pefectly timed, then I can't use them for my project.  Does power point have this capability?

Answer
Hi Matt,

I am sorry to tell you that PowerPoint don't have this capability to synchornize the audio

with presentation. Only you can do is record your narration.

If you like, you could choose some tools to help you.
Most PowerPoint to flash tools for elearning could let you record your narration and then

synchronize it with slides. Articulate Prsenter do a good job in this function.
(http://www.articulate.com/products/presenter.php), it is a good tool and the audio editor

is good enough, howerver, it is a little expensive at price.

Alternatively, you could some cost-effective tool for you. Such as
Wondershare PPT2flash (http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash-pro.html#110), you could

take a quick view at this sample maded by a university:

presentation/index.html

Hope you could find the right tool for you.

Regards.
