Microsoft PowerPoint - PowerPoint Audio Problem

Question
QUESTION: Hi. I have done a powerpoint slide presentation perfectly. I embedded the WAV file to run continuously (looped) right through tot he end of the presentation no problem. Saved it all, have looked at it 10 times to ensure it is all correct. I finally burned it to a CD to take to my presntation, thought I better play it on the laptop to make sure all is good... the music starts new at each slide!!! Only on the laptop! When I play the CD on the PC it works like it is supposed to, but on the laptop it does not. Can you help me? This is a school project and I can't thinkof how else I can take it to school unless on the CD. I have PowerPoint 2002. Thanks so much for your time.

ANSWER: Since you're using PowerPoint 2002, I must say that I'm not so familiar with Mac. Here just a suggested solution for you:

Upload your presentation to http://www.slideshare.net or some other slide sharing website, you can view the presentation online

You could go to ask in the mac PowerPoint newsgroup. Have a look here

Hope it would help :)

QUESTION: Thank you, but I am not using a Mac at all, I am using a PC. I went into my PowerPoint help bar to find out what edition I was using and it said 2002, so I gave that info in case it would help. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for your time.

ANSWER: Hi Jill.

You have made me a little confused. Do you know which version of PowerPoint is used on the laptop?

QUESTION: Hi, sorry, it is 2003. My mistake. I have put it on a CD as well as a flash drive, and the only place the music loops is on the original computer which the presentation was made. On any other computer, laptop or desktop, the music starts fresh at the start of each new slide. It is driving me crazy :-0! It works on the one computer, and I do not understand why it won't work on any other one. I need to make this presentation next week and am becoming a little panicked. Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi, Jill. Sorry to keep you waiting for so long because I'm out on weekend. I'm afraid there's something wrong on your setting of background music. Please try the following steps exactly:

1. Insert a sound clip or music into the presentation
You have 2 options to do so in PowerPoint:

Insert -> Movies and sounds -> Sound from File...

2. Set the music to play through the presentation
1)Right-click the sound's icon and select Custom Animation from the popup menu. The Custom Animation pane will open and your sound file should be listed.

2) In the Custom Animation pane, click the arrow directly to the right of the sound icon to pull down the various options. Then select Effect Options.

3) Locate the Effects tab and Click the radio button beside Stop Playing after *** slides
Put a large number in the box so the track will play throughout all your slides, even if you go back and forth among slides. PPT considers each transition a "slide," so you should put a large number as you can in there.

4) Check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, the timing should be set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay. Click OK to close the dialog box.

Also, you could use a tool called Wondershare PPT2Flash. It has the feature of "Import Audio". This feature allows you to set background music for the whole presentation with just one click. And this software allows you to convert the PowerPoint to an exe. file. This exe. file could be played on any computer and I guarantee you it would go wrong on any computer. You can get a free trail here.
