Question
Is it possible to set the time that a slide is displayed and if so how is it done?

Answer
Larry, Right click the slide

Select Slide transition (if you don't see this menu click in a location away from the text boxes)

You can also open the Task pane from the View menu and then select the Transition Option

On the bottom right of the task pane in the Advance slide area
Select Automatically after... and select a time.
