Question We have created a company Christmas card. When we print the entire document, one of the small graphics doesn't print. If we print only that part of the card, it does print. Any ideas why?
Answer Hi Jennifer,
Normally when it comes to printing a graphic from any program, especially if that graphic appears in the program but won't print on the page, it has more to do with the print parameters than the program itself.
If it will print a portion of the card, but not the whole card, I would venture to guess the problem is in your printer's memory. It would seem that the size of the card is more than the spooling capabilities of your printer.
I would suggest first, you try to replace the graphic(s) with a smaller sized one and see if it will print.
If the smaller sized graphic prints, the problem is in your printer's memory. It is not able to spool all the data at one time. As a guide try to make sure you compress your graphics to the smallest possible size without sacrificing the quality of the print. Normally for print, 300 dpi is sufficient.
The other problem could be that the graphic is not linked internally in the document. This happens when the graphic is directly copied from an external source, like the Internet, and pasted directly in the file instead of the graphic being copied from an external source, saved to the computer, then inserted into the document.
If that's the problem, delete the graphic from the card, save the picture again from the source, and then insert it back into the card.
These are the only two things I could think of. I hope that helps.
