Microsoft Publisher - fonts in publiser

Expert: Dawn Douglas - 11/18/2008

Question
when I type an article for our website using publisher, everything is fine until I upload it to the web. On the Web the apostrophe and other characters (@,# etc) turn into garbage. I've tried to change the font to 3 different fonts and still no luck I'm using publisher 2007 on a windows XP system
Thanks

Answer
Hi Ed,

I can feel your aggravation. Not to worry it's a simple fix. What you need to do is go  Under Tools > Options > Web and change encoding to Unicode UTF8. This is caused by using an unsupported character or formatting. So ideally you just remove the formatting or character, and keep the default encoding.

It will not matter what font you use if you do that. I have included a image of where to find this information.

I hope that helps.

Very Respectfully,

Dawn
