Microsoft Word/symbol translation
Expert: Anne Troy - 1/21/2009
QuestionWhen typing "501(c)(3)", the IRS designation for a non-profit corporation, Word 2007 automatically converts the "(c)" to the copyright symbol (a lowercase 'c' in circle). How can I disable that automatic conversion?
AnswerHi, John!
Choose the Office button, then Word Options.
Then go to Proofing, then choose Autocorrect options (Autocorrect tab should already be chosen by default).
In there, the 3rd item in the list is the (c).
Either remove the autocorrect entry you don't want
OR
Uncheck the "Replace text as you type" checkbox.
I hope this helps!
