Microsoft Word - Word document driving me mad

Expert: Richard Rost - 10/27/2009

Question
I am not really sure how to explain this or tittled it so I hope you forgive me for that.
I am using Word 2003 and I am currently working on a document and I need to do a lot of changes to it. Now, when I highlight a paragraph to lets say center it, it will automatically centrer teh whole document. If I hit the back button then the whole doc goes back to normal but the part I wanted to change.
Literally, what ever formatting I do, I get the same thing. I have never seen soemthing like this before and I am running out of time to work with the doc, can you help me, please?

Answer
I would need to see this document to tell you for sure what the problem is, but based on what you've told me, it sounds like whoever typed the document didn't use paragraph breaks (ENTER) between paragraphs. If you center one, it looks like it centers the whole thing. Maybe there are just line breaks between the paragraphs.

But again, without seeing this document it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to tell you what the problem is. Sorry.

Let me know if you have any other questions or comments.
