Microsoft Word/Forms in Word
Expert: Aidan Heritage - 11/4/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Hi
I am making a Form in Word that has to work for word 2000-2007 users preferably.
The form is 2 pages, when I type in information (like a name or check a box)on page 1 is it possible to have the same information copied automatically in fields on page 2 that contain the same info so I don't have to repeat the typing?
I tried using bookmarks and cross references but than I have to update which is not possible to do when I lock the document so the form works.
Thank you
Hulda
ANSWER: A REF field is the correct field to use – although this doesn’t update on screen, it WILL update when the document is printed. Use the legacy textbox control in 2007 (or design it in an older version which may be an easier route)

QUESTION: Thank you for the answer, this works fine with the Text form fields but not for the Check boxes. Is there any way to check a box on page one and have another on page two be checked at the same time?
Hoping there is a solution
Thank you
Hulda
AnswerThe only way I can think of to do this would be via VBA, though if I was using VBA I probably wouldn't use fields at all, just a dialog box to gather the inputs - I'm happy to help with this if it would be useful - my email is aidan.heritage@virgin.net
