I have just asked this question and had a follow up but the person that I had asked was not online.
This box has already been checked, and the bullets are still not tabbing. Is there anything else that I can do to fix the problem?

I'm not familiar with the macOS but the description of the problem doesn't sound like something I've come across - tabbing would not change the bullet normally? Possibly you are referring to a multi-level list, which on a PC would be a combination keystroke, tab being just one of the keys?
