Microsoft Word - cursor jumping while entering text

Expert: Aidan Heritage - 11/9/2009

Question
I'll be typing in Word and Outlook and all of a sudden the cursor/text is in the middle of previous text and I'll have to fix it. I sure I'm not touching anything other than keyboard. It is driving me mad. This has only started recently I am sure

Answer
This is almost certainly computer related - but you didn't specify what form of computer it is - IF it's a laptop with a touchpad instead of a mouse then it may well be that - if not, there are keyboard shortcuts that can move within the document, so IF you happen to press Ctrl instead of the shift key that is a POSSIBLE explanation - though it's pretty unlikely to be a move within text command doing this, it is possible.
