Microsoft Word - word 2007 columns

Expert: Nancy C. Janyszeski - 11/8/2009

Question
hello,
i created two columns in word 2007, but i don't know how to add a different background on each column and still be able to write text on it. could you please help me as soon a possible..thank you..

Answer
Hello - use the tables feature instead of columns.  Create a table with the same number of columns you have currently using the columns feature.

Turn off the borders of the table using Table Properties.

You can then add different backgrounds to each cell, row or column.
