Experience I have worked professionally on MS Word since 1992 when v2.0 was launched. For one employer, I created several macros to address the issues of translating a document from a Sun-based desktop publisher to Word and then from Word to ASCII (a VERY specific application). I have created mail merge letters and labels, fliers and brochures, concert programs, investment company documents, large running tables, along with the more ordinary word processing documents.

Question I try to open a document from Microsoft word and receive a message stating Featured ID not registered.
Can you tell me what is wrong.

Answer Hi Barbara,
Did you just install a new version of Word? Apparently, sometimes the old one doesn't get properly uninstalled. One thing you could try is going into the Control Panel and choosing Folder Options. In the File Types window, reconnect all of the Word file extensions with the new version of Word (or just reconnect it to the old version, if you haven't recently installed a new version).
