about it, the more I realize how little I know. But I may know a few things
that you don't, and I'll help if I can. I answer many questions every day in

Please, no questions about VBA (macros), Registry editing, networks, or complex merges, as I have no experience with these aspects of Word, nor do I have any experience with Word for the Mac.
Experience I have a master's degree in classics (Latin), which is surprisingly helpful, though I no longer teach. Question To create a TOC in MS Word, select Reference/ TOC/ Insert TOC, the TOC configuration dialog box comes up, in General/ Formats: there are options of 'From template', 'Classic', 'Fancy' etc. Is it possible to create my own Format template, cause I'm trying to create a table-like info and use TOC feature to pull out text data according to the selected styles

Answer "From template" uses the TOC styles you have defined. You can create a TOC field to incorporate any desired heading styles.
