Microsoft Word - copy/paste slow

Expert: Nancy C. Janyszeski - 7/1/2009

Question
I have XP Professional/Office 2003 Suite, with all the up to date (July 2009) patches.

In the last 3 months, the copy/paste function in Word 2003 has been very slow - in the order of 5-7 seconds to copy/paste, say 3 words (not that much memory). No graphics is involved.

Can you suggest a few categories of problems here.

I've tried; uninstall/reinstall Office 2003, uninstall my antivirus, delete Office 2007...

Thanks.

Answer
Tommie, I am seeing office 2003 and Office 2007

Office 2003 Suite

Not sure if you are running Office 2007 on XP or

Office 2003 on Vista?

Where are you copying from?  If you are copying from the internet it is a slow paste because of the code.

I see Word 2003 so I am not clear where the Office 2007 comes into the picture.
