Question
QUESTION: I am using windows vista on a hp a6110n and hp psc 750. I can copy anything inn picture form from the scanner but cannot coppy a document or letter which I need to edit or add to. Can you help me? It appears the scanner goes to something called readiris and I have to transfer any scanned item to the "picture' section of vista. I cannot edit a picture. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You need an OCR program to get editable text. see if your scanner has ocr software, if you don't have one have a look at this site

QUESTION: I have ocr and adobe I can even at time bring up a copy of some work from the scanner, but it is in the readiris and I cannot copy it to any of my word programs. Please note that I am a compputer dummy. Thanks for any and all help.

I haven't used readiris so this is only a guess.  Make sure that you save the file with as a text editable file ie with the txt or doc extension from ReadIris, you can then open the file in Word and copy and paste from there.  If that doesn't work I would suggest trying the readiris forum here
