Question On Which mode should I bake the cake (convection, combine or grilled)? if it is convection then at what power rating and for how much time?
Answer Dear Riya, you can bake cakes several ways with your oven. My favorite is to use microwave only. If you have a round or ring pan that is large enough to hold the batter the cake will cook best. However any glass, plastic, or ceramic dish will work. Line the bottom of the pan with wax paper and coat the sides with butter. Mix the batter and pour into the pan and microwave on high for about 10 minutes. Check to see if the batter has set in the center of the cake (insert a pick and it should come out clean). If not done, cook in 1 minute increments until done. Cool and invert the cake onto a serving platter and frost (ice) the cake as desired. If using convection only; prepare as directed above and bake at 350F, 176C for about 30-40-minutes or until set. If using combination; use the setting with the lowest microwave power and bake for about 20-30-minutes or until done. Do not use the grill function. Good Luck!
