Question Can I bake a pizza in my convection oven?
Answer Hey Ellen, yes you can bake pizza in your oven. For frozen pizza: pre heat the convection mode to the highest temperature and place the pie on the rack in the middle of the oven and cook for about 15 minutes or until the crust is crisp and the cheeses on top are bubbling and slightly brown. OR, place the pie on the rack in the middle of the oven and microwave, on high power, for about 3-4 minutes or until the cheeses are bubbling. Then set the convection mode to the highest temperature and cook for about 5 minutes or until the crust is crisp and the top slightly brown. There's no need to preheat the oven for this technique. For fresh pizza: prepare the crust and place on a glass pizza pan or a sheet of parchment paper and place on the shelf in the middle of the oven. Microwave for about 3 minutes or until the crust is firm (if it puffs up in places, don't worry, just press out the air before adding the sauce and toppings). Spread the crust with sauce and add the toppings and place back in the oven. Cook on the highest convection setting until the cheese is bubbling and the crust crisp, about 8 minutes. Good luck and be sure to watch the cooking a few times until you're work out the proper cooking times.
